Parti Bersatu Sabah to fight for lost provisions in Malaysia Agreement 1963

KENINGAU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) will co-sponsor a motion with Sarawak to restore lost provisions in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) should it be tabled in Parliament.

In a statement, its executive Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said the move is to ensure that the territorial integrity of the Malaysian nation is preserved.

“We will network with Sarawak, especially on what legal actions are required to restore lost safeguards," he told hundreds of participants attending the PBS Leadership Seminar here.

Maximus stressed that defending the state’s rights, as contained in the MA63, is basic to the PBS’ struggle and part of the party’s constitution.

“We have been consistent (in our struggle) since the party’s inception 31 years ago. "Other parties are just jumping on the bandwagon, preaching about their struggles to restore Sabah and Sabahans’ rights," said the Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister.

PBS is currently touring the state with its Leadership Seminar, in which Ongkili speaks on his paper entitled “Understanding MA63”.
