Chinese New Year Walkabout In Kota Marudu

KOTA MARUDU (Jan 28, 2014): Kota Marudu MP Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Ongkili made a walkabout at the business and commercial areas in Kota Marudu yesterday to wish the traders and people he met a Happy Chinese New Year.

He was accompanied by Tandek assemblyman Anita Baranting, BN component party leaders and district officer Sualim Sanan.

The Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister also took time to chat with the traders and people on issues affecting them including drainage problem, licences issues, parking and traffic problem.

“The festive season is a good time to go down to the ground and listen to the problems affecting our constituents, whether business people or ordinary people on the street. Their feedback is invaluable for us to know their needs and for us to develop new programmes as well as refine our existing development plans for the betterment of Kota Marudu. The feedback will also be useful for the district council to execute appropriate actions.

“The Chinese New Year festival is also a good time for us to keep our racial unity alive. We must continue to celebrate and appreciate our racial diversity including by joining our brothers and sisters in their respective festivities. Racial unity in diversity has always and should always be the hallmark of 1Malaysia,” he said.
