Sabah will pay attention on assisting small contractors

KOTA MARUDU, Dec 11, 2012 (The Borneo Post) -- The government will continue to pay attention to assist small contractors, on condition they diligently carry out projects given to them.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili also urged Class F contractors to work towards building themselves up, alluding that big contractors in Sabah started small, but became successful after establishing their reputation.

He was speaking to 137 Class F contractors who bid for 27 projects worth RM1 million, under the Basic Infrastructure Projects and Public Infrastructure Projects (PIAS/PIA) for the Kota Marudu district here yesterday.

The bidding was done automatically through computerisation to assure bidders of transparency whereby, successful applicants were randomly picked, using a computer system verified by Mimos.
