Three Sibu Schools Get Sirim Smart Learning Programme

SIBU, May 10 (Bernama) -- Three schools here on Monday joined the rank of over 50 others nationwide to enjoy a smart learning programme implemented by Sirim Berhad.

Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bawang Assan, SK Abang Ali and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Chung Hwa received the programme aimed at providing exposure to the students on information and communication technology (ICT).

In a statement released by Sirim, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili launched the programme at SK Bawang Assan, about 50km from here.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Maximus hoped the programme would spark the interest of the community, especially the young generation, in the field of science, technology and innovation.

The first school in Sarawak to enjoy such programme was SK Nanga Kesit in Lubok Antu.

Launched last year, the programme has benefitted over 100 students of the school.
