Angkasawan Programme Research Findings To Be Displayed To Public
KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- The first National Angkasawan Programme's studies on microgravity science will be displayed on the websites of the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry and National Space Agency (Angkasa) to enable public access.
Previously, research findings were presented to local and international scientists at the Microgravity Science Workshop organised by Angkasa and Universiti Malaysia Sabah last year, and in Putrajaya in 2008.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili said this in reply to a supplementary question from Datuk Idris Haron (BN-Tangga Batu) at a Dewan Rakyat sitting here Tuesday.
Earlier, Idris said there were queries from the public because research findings could not be found on any website until now.
Ongkili said the government had also agreed to continue with the National Angkasawan Programme.
"The government will determine, from time to time, the necessity of sending our national angkasawan or second angkasawan on other space missions," he said.
To ensure the programme's continuation, he said public awareness activities such as talks by the national angkasawan at schools and universities, among others, would continue to be held.
