PUTRAJAYA, Jan 28 (The Star) -- Anyone who is able to turn the public delivery system into being more innovative, fast, efficient and effective will be rewarded, said the Prime Minister.
Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak added that each ministry and government agency should also set up a special innovation unit.

Token of thanks: Dr Ongkili
presenting a souvenir to Najib during the launching of Malaysia Innovative 2010
in Putrajaya yesterday.
It was crucial for the civil service to be innovative as it was the country’s
“biggest employer” and any transformation would have implications
to the economy, he said at the launch of Malaysia Innovative 2010 themed “Celebrating
Creativity”.
Also present were Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.
He added that the right eco-system – where the family and education system, private and public sector and the grassroots work as one – must be created to allow ideas and creativity to grow.
On another matter, Bernama reports that the prime minister will today roll out the landmark blueprint to transform the Government’s delivery system.
The Government Transformation Programme (GTP) Roadmap is a major milestone towards Vision 2020 to achieve developed country status.
Najib introduced the 1Malaysia concept and GTP in April last year – the same month he took office, and six National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) were announced to address the main concerns of the people.
“The purpose of this roadmap is to ensure the NKRA initiatives are implemented correctly. It will outline specific programmes, costs and time frames for implementation.
“This plan is a living document and will continue to take into account public feedback. The roadmap will be taken on a nationwide tour, allowing all Malaysians an opportunity to respond,” Najib wrote on his 1Malaysia blog yesterday.
