6,411 Malaysian Standards Developed From 1996 Till September This Year
PUTRAJAYA, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- A total of 6,411 Malaysian Standards were successfully developed since the Malaysian Standards Department was established in 1996 till Sept 30 this year, said Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.
He said they encompassed 27 sectors and that the achievement was 107 per cent of the 6,000 standards target set for the time frame.
The role of Standards Malaysia as a body responsible for standardisation and accreditation activities also needed the support of all quarters, he said when opening the National Standards and Accreditation Awards 2011 ceremony at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre here.
Also present was Malaysian Standards Department director-general Fadilah Baharin.
